Brief Testimony
of Pastor Richard
I went to
college in the 60s, which should worry any straight
thinking person! But as we often hear people say,
“that is another story!” In 1973, after finishing a
Masters in Microbiology, I no longer believed that
the world evolved; it had to have been made for it
was just too precise and complicated. So I went on a
search for who was telling the truth about God. I
wandered about the yoga societies, sat at the feet
of the Eastern gurus visiting America, read the
likes of Carlos Castaneda, and engaged in specific
behaviors like fasting and not sleeping, so that I
might become more spiritual. Finally, I decided to
try that which I scorned most, (as did most of my
generation); I decided to try the Bible. Over time I
concluded that the Bible was indeed accurate and
Jesus was the in fact the only real Truth. This
eventually led me to seminary and a Masters of
Divinity. In 1977, God called me into the ministry,
and to that task I have tried to be faithful ever
since. |
